The holidays are coming.

Although the days are getting shorter and shorter, children still get restless. Here comes the winter break. I have found 5 things to do in the city with your children. Let me know if you do or have done any of these things. I would love to post it.

Here are a list of five things I found you can do...

1) Go to the Mill City Museum.

I took the kids to the Mill City Museum last week. It was a very fun place to go. I think it would be good for the toddler crowd because everything (like the History Center) has a touch please policy. There is a water room, a few puzzles. A baking kitchen, and a very awesome elevator ride/show that tells you in a very fun way the history of "Mill City". You go up to the 9th floor and can go on a balcony for a lovely view of St. Anthony Falls. I didn't eat there, but they seem to have a lovely cafe. The kids had a nice time exploring and playing with the exhibits.

2) Go to the Arboretum.

I took my family to the Arboretum a few weeks ago. There were no flowers blooming, and the leaves were pretty much off the tree, but the walks in the woods were very fun. We saw a bunch (or pride, or flock, or gaggle, or whatever) of wild turkeys. It was very cool! My kids just want to run around and burn energy. It was a cold day and after we frolicked, we sat by a fireplace and had a warm lunch. There is also a very great learning center. Loads of educational touch and smell displays, and there is a concervatory with plants to touch, smell and play with. Very Fun. We will be heading back this winter for cross country skiing.

3.) Go pick apples (or pumpkins, or take a hay ride or any other of that farmey kind of things!)

Now I have done this with my family. It is a great thing to do. Minnesota apples are some of the best in the world, and best right off the tree!!!

4.)Jackson Street Roundhouse.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I haven't been here, but I will take my kids before the new year. We are always looking for fun things to do in the city.

5) Explore the Heart of the Beast Puppet Theater. Either see a show, or take a class.

La Natividad

I have seen a show here, but never a class. Several of my friends recommend taking a class, so I will too.
